In 1977, when Louis Irion’s son (Louis Irion III) opened Irion Co. Furniture Makers in Paoli, Pa, his father shared with him the patterns of beds he had made over the years. Today, those same patterns make up the core of our collection. And as we continue Louis Irion’s tradition of building beds (and other furniture) for individual customers, our collection has expanded to include designs ranging from simple, to ornate, from antique to contemporary.
All of our beds are hand-turned and built to customer specifications. We work with you to select the right design, size, post and bedding height, wood, and finish. We typically work in walnut, cherry, mahogany, curly maple and curly birch. Our bed posts are hand-turned from single pieces of wood for grain and color consistency. Beds are built with mortise-and-tenon construction, and can be easily disassembled and reassembled.
